A New Article is Born!

This month, a piece I wrote on a former Penn classmate (go ’00!) appears in the November/December issue of The Pennsylvania Gazette.  It’s a profile of Jonathan Grabelle Herrmann, the executive director of a supremely cool Philadelphia nonprofit called Campus Philly.  You can read it by clicking here.

I am also proud to report that this piece marks my twelfth published article.  A whole dozen!  Yes!  Here’s me being stoked about myself and my accomplishments!

So I figure now all I have to do is double that number and I can start throwing around the “Rachel has published dozens of articles, essays, blah blah blah…” on my About page.  Do you love that phraseology as much as I do?  I feel like I see this talk of “dozens” in a lot in other writer’s bios.  Imagine…we could be talking 24, 36, 48…72…144…who’s to say?  Who is to say.

Anyway, now that I am officially fresh out of forthcoming publications, I would be ever so glad to have that next new idea to pitch somewhere.  I hate not having something in the works.  I’ve been brooding over this impending moment for months and still I’m stuck.  So:

Dear Idea,

If you’re reading this, please be in touch.  If not now, then soon.  Know that you are more than welcome to email me, call me, appear in my Alpha-Bits or whisper in my ear in the shower at your earliest convenience.  I’d appreciate it muchly.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Love,
Rachel

I really like your site and I think it is cool, I hope maybe I could possibly give you some ideas about what to work on next, I myself, keep talking about doing my own work, and writing a book focusing on the African American male, and his or (their) nearing extinction that is until Obama got in the White House…
